FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS - COMPANIES
How are consultants screened?
We evaluate consultants against the five core competencies that we deem critical for delivering independent projects. Against these core competencies we conduct:
CV screening
Interviews with multiple partners and managers
Thorough verbal references
Should a consultant be successful then we assess their suitability for short-listing on specific projects in more detail on a case by case basis.
With what sort of consultants does Eden McCallum typically work?
Our independent consultants have been highly successful within a blue chip consulting firm. They combine proven problem-solving skills with a commercially pragmatic approach to tackling business issues. In addition they have industry and functional experience directly relevant to our client’s requirements on each project. They are motivated, tenacious, creative and versatile, with an exceptional ability to adapt to different styles and backgrounds within consulting teams and client organisations. Most of all, they are passionate about delivering results for clients.
In which markets does Eden McCallum operate?
Whilst most of our work is based in the UK and in Continental Europe, we also operate in the US and the Middle East. More than forty-five percent of the independent consultants with whom we work regularly are bilingual and twenty percent speak three or more languages.
How is quality guaranteed?
Eden McCallum invests a great deal of time and effort upfront to ensure that the right consultants are proposed, and that the project is scoped and launched for success. Our rigorous interviewing, project scoping and selection procedures mean that all efforts possible are made to ensure a good fit in terms both of skills and personality between client and consultant. In addition, the Eden McCallum partner will stay in close contact with both client and consultants during the project to ensure smooth progress.
What if a client doesn't like any of the consultants sent for interview?
The client is under no obligation to select one of our consultants - as appropriate, we would either provide a new selection of consultants, or withdraw from the process at no cost to the client.
How are consultants and clients matched?
We consider in detail the skills, knowledge, personality and budget required to effectively fulfil the scope of the project. We then assess and interview each considered consultant with the specific needs of the proposed project in mind.
Is the size or duration of a project flexible?
Flexibility in resourcing and timing as well as tailored approaches are at the core of our model. Projects are completely flexible in terms of duration and structure, e.g. some may be full time for three months, others two days a week over six months. The model works both for long-range, major issues and for short term, urgent ones.
How quickly can a project be launched?
Consultants typically commence work on a project about 10 days after the initial brief. However, projects have been known to launch as quickly as 48 hours from the first conversation.
